Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! 🧨🧨🧨

We’ve rounded up some great reads to celebrate with and use to learn a bit more about this special day. Share them with the young people in your life, or enjoy them in a quiet moment to yourself. They’re beautiful and rich enough to be enjoyed by everyone. 

“A New Year's Reunion” by Yu Li-Qiong (Author) and Zhu Cheng-Liang (Illustrator) A sweet story that shows how a family's love is strong enough to endure over time and distance.

"The Nian Monster" by Andrea Wang (Author) and Alina Chau (Illustrator) A colorful tale about a brave young heroine named Xingling and her quest to protect Shanghai from the Nian Monster. 

“The Year of the Dog” by Grace Lin (Author) Grace Lin’s debut novel, this is a  funny and profound book young readers will be sure to love and treasure for years to come.

“Amah Faraway” by Margaret Chiu Greanias (Author) and Tracy Subisak (Illustrator) A delightful story of a child's visit to a grandmother and home far away, and of how families connect and love across distance, language, and cultures.

"Bringing in the New Year" by Grace Lin (Author) Another by Grace Lin, this bright story told in bold and gloriously patterned artwork makes for an unforgettable holiday tale. Her story is simple and tailor-made for reading aloud to young children, and she includes an informative author's note for parents, teachers and children who want to learn even more.

"Mindy Kim and the Lunar New Year Parade: Volume 2" by Nancy Lyla Lee (Author) and Dung Ho  (Illustrator) The second novel in an adorable chapter book series for young readers about Mindy Kim, a young Asian American girl who is getting ready to celebrate Lunar New Year!
